How to Use the Device Manager to Disable USB Ports :
âLog in to an administrator account.
âon the Start menu.
âClick on Device Manager.
âClick on Universal Serial Bus controllers to view all of the USB ports.
âRight click on the USB port that you would like to disable
âSelect Disable devices
âIn the Group or user names list, select the SYSTEM account.
âIn the Permissions for UserName or GroupName list, click to select the Deny check box next to Full Control, and then click OK.
âRight-click the Usbstor.inf file, and then click Properties.
âClick the Security tab.
âIn the Group or user names list, add the user or group that you want to set Deny permissions for.
âon the Start menu.
âClick on Device Manager.
âClick on Universal Serial Bus controllers to view all of the USB ports.
âRight click on the USB port that you would like to disable
âSelect Disable devices
âIn the Group or user names list, select the SYSTEM account.
âIn the Permissions for UserName or GroupName list, click to select the Deny check box next to Full Control, and then click OK.
âRight-click the Usbstor.inf file, and then click Properties.
âClick the Security tab.

đŤOpen Windows registry editor:
âIn the search bar or in the menu to execute
(run with the Win + R keys)
âGo to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ USBSTOR.
âIn the USBSTOR section,
open the Start ⨠parameter in the âValueâ field, set 4 and click âOKâ.
Disable Usb Drives in Group Policies
âFirst, you need to open local group policy editor.
âIn the search bar or in the menu to execute (execute is called with the Win + R keys),
enter:
gpedit.mscand press the Enter key.
ââComputer Configurationâ ⨠âAdministrative Templatesâ ⨠âSystemâ ⨠âRemovable Storage Accessâ ⨠in the right pane, open âRemovable Disks: Deny Execute Accessâ.
âAfter that choose âEnabledâ and click âOKâ.
âAlso put is included in âRemovable disks: Deny Read Accessâ and in âRemovable disks: Deny Write Accessâ.

âExpand USB Controllers:
Right-click on all entries, one after another.
âclick âDisable Deviceâ.
Click âYesâ when you see a confirmation dialog.
